Nuf A Dem EP
Transient Audio

After Khanum shining on Transient Audio’s first digital release, it’s up to the Bristolian Muttley to illuminate the label’s next outline. This sub-label of Trojan Audio focuses on the darker spectrum of the bass music circuit - and is ready to unveil ‘TRANS002’.

Muttley’s previous release on Imperial Audio was all about rusty wobbles swerving through the cold, dark alleys of Bristol. His ‘Nuf A Dem’ EP moves into a more sophisticated, sound system-oriented environment, containing hints of persistent grime, classic dubstep and dub. This EP, consisting of five jams, yet again highlights up and coming talent from the UK.

‘Clav Riddim’ smoothly escorts you to a realm of dub where a nearly broken breakbeat and a fat bassline rule the dance. Trumpets release a triumphant oscillation joined by a vocal, tuning into that one sole frequency of the EP opener.

Choirs salve the dark and grim outskirts in ‘Living’, led by an almost liquefied wobble. The bassline that supports the creepy sound palette nearly looses control, while the subtle melody prevents listeners from falling off a steep cliff.

Melody lovers will favourite ‘Verde’ as being an intriguing jam full of chesty bass weight, flutes pivoting around jolts of goose bumps and trippy time-lines – and is aided by distortion and growls that have an appetite for destruction.

The reminiscent sound from the early dubstep days surface in Muttley’s ‘Old Timer’: it pays homage to the authentic vibe brought forth by monumental producers like Coki, Cotti and Kromestar. Wobble galore on Transient Audio!

An overwhelming mixture of rude basslines and sour atmospheres fuel the reckless movement of title track ‘Nuf A Dem’. Muttley packs the right amount of delay, sub bass and even silence into this power jam, which will close down a dance and this EP for good!

We gladly welcome Muttley to our Transient Audio imprint with a Bristolian EP that will set the dances across the globe on fire. We hope you will enjoy his sound as much as we do!
